Matthew J. Tinnelly

Matthew is an associate attorney with the firm whose primary area of focus is recovering expenditures incurred by carriers due to the negligence of outside parties.  He has experience handling many different types of recovery matters ranging from the recovery of costs to repair locomotives, railroad tracks, electrical bungalows, railcars, railroad crossing signal equipment, and bridges, which includes claims that arise under admiralty law as a result of an allision.  Matthew aggressively advocates on behalf of firm clients and has significant experience interfacing with insurance companies and third party claims agents.  In addition to handling expenditure matters, Matthew defends claims involving freight loss and damage, demurrage, construction, and breach of contract.

Prior to practicing law, Matthew was a high school English teacher for almost a decade and this experience as an educator has translated into an ability to advocate and educate adverse parties and courts regarding discreet transportation law issues.
