Matthew J. Tinnelly

Matthew J. Tinnelly is an associate attorney with the firm that has successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts.

Matt devotes his practice to recovering costs firm clients incur to repair or replace property that has been damaged as a result of the negligence of a third-party. These claims involve real or personal property. Matt aggressively advocates on behalf of firm clients and has significant experience interfacing with insurance companies and third-party claims agents.

One of Matt’s primary areas of focus is litigating property damage claims involving bridge structures. Matt has considerable experience pursuing the recovery of repair and replacement costs firm clients incurred repairing bridge structures. These claims often require special investigations and the retention of expert witnesses. Matt has handled bridge matters from the initial investigation to resolution. Matt’s experience enables him to identify the people and documentation that will be required to pursue a successful recovery. Matt’s knowledge of bridge matters allows him to anticipate and defeat likely legal defenses that will be raised by culpable parties in an effort to reduce liability and damages owed to firm clients.

Matt also handles admiralty matters involving bridge structures that arise as a result of an allision or collision. These matters often involve damage to bridge substructures, bridge swing spans, piers, dolphins, fender systems, or docks. Matt has successfully litigated numerous admiralty matters involving substantial repair and replacement costs incurred by firm clients. Matt has extensive experience working with maritime experts to develop legal theories of liability to support claims against culpable parties.   In addition to handling property damage matters, Matt also handles claims involving freight loss and damage, demurrage, construction disputes, and breach of contract.

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, daughters, and dogs. He is also an avid golfer and Philadelphia sports fan.
